Annually between the months of April and October, our Brilliant Detroit team, participants and volunteers gather at each of our neighborhood hubs for spring cleaning and outdoor beautification. We know that spring symbolizes a time of rebirth and growth, so we take this time to come together as a community to clean-up our yards, prepare our beds and gardens, plant flowers, and make other improvements to our outdoor spaces. It is also a time for us to renew our commitment to kid success neighborhoods.

Volunteer: Summer 2025: Community Outreach Volunteers

Brilliant Cities is a neighborhood-powered model ensuring children 0-8 are school-ready, healthy, and supported. We do this by transforming houses into community hubs where children and families have what they need to thrive. We currently operate 16 hubs across 24 neighborhoods in Detroit and 1 in Pontiac, where families with young children come for programs in education, health, and family support, and to build community with one another to receive love, safety, growth, and fellowship.

We’re currently looking for community members to help share the amazing work happening at Brilliant Detroit by hanging and passing out flyers in the neighborhood. Your support helps connect families to free programs, resources, and events that strengthen our community.

What Community Outreach Can Look Like:

Spending time with Brilliant Detroit staff printing and preparing flyers Posting flyers at local businesses, schools, churches, and community centers Distribute promotional materials about resources provided by Brilliant Detroit throughout the neighborhood Inviting friends, neighbors, and others to get involved

We would love to have you join us in supporting and sharing the mission of Brilliant Detroit! Once you submit your interest in this volunteer role, you’ll receive a confirmation email outlining the next steps in our onboarding process, including confirming your availability to schedule an upcoming outreach project.
